One of the first photographic mediums created (and remaining virtually unchanged since then), Cyanotypes are some of the most iconic and historic photo processes. Using light-sensitive solution coated on various materials (paper, fabric, teabags, rolling papers), cyanotypes are unique and striking blue prints that are personal to the one creating them.
I've been running workshops on cyanotypes over the past year and a half and run a wide range of classes, including: Intro to Cyanotypes, Advanced Cyanotype Printing, Cyanotypes on Fabric workshops, and an occasional themed class. I run my classes at various art studios around Boston, including Arts Collaborative Medford, Boston Figurative Arts Center, Artisans Asylum, Arlington Community Education, Cambridge Center for Adult Education, and more! Below are experimental cyanotype prints I've made, including some printed on teabags and rolling papers.
Cyanotypes are camera-less blue prints made using a photographic process that involves coating paper or fabric in UV-sensitive chemicals and exposing to UV light. The process dates back to 1842 and has remained unchanged since then.
